Roof

While they’ve become less and less common, rubber roofs are still a standard feature on many older RVs. If you’re making plans to give your RV’s exterior a good scrub, you’ll need to have a few special tools on hand for your rubber roof. A powerwasher is usually all it takes to give a rubber roof a good wash, However, if you don't have one of these handy tools available, we advise visiting your nearest dealership and grabbing some specialized rubber cleanser. If you’re interested in waxing your rig once you’re done washing it, remember to avoid your roof, as the wax will end up damaging the rubber.

Waxing

Speaking of waxing, there are quite a few different products available for RVs. If you’re in a bit of a hurry, you can always give spray-on wax a try. Just be sure to buff it out with a soft towel, and pay close attention to which surfaces it can be applied to. Liquid wax is also a great option and can be applied on a majority of surfaces. Before you wax your RV, remember to give it a thorough scrub and allow it to dry completely before getting started.

Awnings

Awnings are one of the easiest RV components to clean! Most of the time you can simply take your hose or pressure washer and give them a good rinse from top to bottom. If you do need to use a cleanser, a mild detergent or dish soap is usually best. Be sure to scrub carefully, as heavy rubbing and scrubbing can sometimes damage the fabric.
