It's finally here, the state fair has officially landed in Fair Park! The Texas State fair has been around since the late 1880s and is just another event that fills Texans with pride. This year the fair will run from September 27th-October 20th. This blog will give you an inside scoop on what this year's fair will have to offer and where you can park your motorhome during your fun-filled holiday. If you are ready to say hello to Big Tex, then keep on scrolling!

The State Fair of Texas welcomes millions of visitors every year to the historic Fair Park fair grounds. Travel with your family and create fun memories while at the fair and in your motorhome. Stop by Motorhomes of Texas if you need anything before you head to Dallas!

First things first, we need to know how much it costs to enter the fair grounds. The best deal for Dallas locals especially, is the season pass, which is $45. It get's you into the park everyday, a ticket to the concerts at the Chevrolet Main Stage, and discounts for you and your friends/family. Note, you only receive the extra coupons with your season pass if you purchase it at the gate for $45, the digital season pass is $39 but only gets you in the park and entry to concerts. If you aren't looking to spend the next 24 days living at the fair, not to worry you can buy a general admission ticket online for $16.50 (this saves you $1.50 buying online). If you are going in a group of 4, you can purchase the family or ultimate family 4-pack online for $105 or $205. This group deal provides the general admission ticket for 4 people and includes $50 or $150 in food and ride coupons. Another way to save money is to go on discount days or bring donations to the gate and get discounts. For more information on discounts you can click here.

Apart from the attractions, games, and food, the State Fair of Texas also has a lot of events and concerts up its sleeve! First off is the free concert series. Every year there are soloists and bands that come to Texas and perform live on stage to fans who have a general admission ticket. This year some of the acts include Rick Springfield (September 27th), Daughtry (October 5th), Big & Rich (October 12th), and Billy Ray Cyrus (October 13th) to name a few. Other free events with cost of admission are an all-star dog stunt show, Big Tex's Farmyard, Home on the Range Barnyard, a Starlight Parade, and much more every day and night of the fair! For college football fans there are three football games that will be played at the historic Cotton Bowl stadium, including the Red River Showdown between Oklahoma and Texas!
